About South Brooklyn Seventh-day Adventist Church is a family-oriented, salvation-minded church. We love to talk about Jesus, as well as spend time with our members, friends, and visitors in fellowship and good times. Leadership South Brooklyn is led by Pastor Dr. John W. Jones, an ordained minister in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. With many years of active service, Dr. Jones is a capable and involved leader. He is supported by First Elder Owen Monk, Sr., and a team of elders. We have many other active departments, including those who provide assistance to the needy, provide in-home Bible studies, and support for men, women, and families. Social Makeup Our church is diverse, with more than ten cultures from around the globe represented at any given time. Our membership ranges from babies, children, tweens, teens, young adults, adults, and senior adults. With such diversity, our worship and programs have to be diverse. Programming Attending South Brooklyn, you are certain to find programming that appeals both to your tastes and to your interests. For example, on Sabbath (Saturday) mornings, we have "Sabbath School", which is the equivalent to Sunday School. This is a wonderful program to attend if you are looking for focussed Bible studies. We also have our main services, lunch, a children's program, and we end the day with Adventist Youth Society (AYS), a wholesome program led by the young adults. This program tackles social and spiritual issues that are not usually covered by the mainstream media. On Wednesday nights, we host "Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting". This mid-week break from the hustle-and-bustle is a great way to recompose yourself and focus on God. The pace is relaxed and the attendees are welcoming. Many other programs are scheduled throughout the year, such as Cultural Day, Women's Ministries Day, Hospitality Day, Music Appreciation Day, and many more. Please feel free to join us at any time. We will welcome you and make you comfortable. If there's anything that we could do to ensure your comfort, don't hesitate to let us know. We will do our best to accommodate you.
